Having a dog can add happiness to your life. But sometimes cleaning up after a dog can be a bit more than we bargained for. Shedding is one of the main cleaning troubles we run into with dogs and other pets. Urine and other stains are also an issue from time to time but for now lets focus on some dog hair cleaning tips.
A great way to clean up unwanted dog hair is by using a vacuum cleaner. Some vacuum cleaning companies even offer vacuums that are specially designed for picking up pet hair. But any good sucking vacuum with a clean bag and good filter will clean up most shed hair. Lint rollers will also come in handy for some quick cleaning around the house when unexpected company drops by or you just need to tidy up a bit.
There are some preventative steps you can take to cut down on the amount of dog hair flying around. Try using a dog hair removal tool to remove loose dog hairs that would otherwise fall off anyway. For some dogs it can be best to do this while they are tired and lying around, eating, or being preoccupied in some other way. There are also a lot of good shampoos and conditioners on the market that will moisturize the dog’s skin to reduce shedding.
Another trick you can do is to give your dog some fish oil supplement to help keep their skin from drying out which promotes shedding. There are dog fish oil liquids on the market or can also give them a fish oil capsule in their dog food during feeding time. Following some of these dog hair cleaning tips and preventive steps can really help reduce the amount of shedding hair from your dog or other pets.
